LIVE SIMPLY, LOVE YOU, LOVE GOD

Image
Dr. Ben Carson (Retired world renowned neurosurgeon, and Republican Presidential Aspirant) wrote this profound & beautiful piece. You may wish to review and enjoy your life after this. Sometimes you are unsatisfied with your life, while many people in this world are dreaming of living your life. A child on a farm sees a plane fly overhead and dreams of flying. But, a pilot on the plane sees the farmhouse and dreams of returning home. That's life!! Enjoy yours. If wealth is the secret to happiness, then the rich should be dancing on the streets. But only poor kids do that. If power ensures security, then officials should walk unguarded. But those who live simply, sleep soundly. If beauty and fame bring ideal relationships, then celebrities should have the best marriages. But those who live simply, walk humbly and love genuinely! All good will come back to you!!! Man asks, “Where was God when Myles Munroe, wife and his associates were killed in a crash?  He answers,...

What's wrong with America & the world?

Image
I got this post from my music producer friend, +Job Treash  , I'm not the copy n' share kinda fellow,  but this y'all got to read. If perhaps you have an answer to my question , ' What's wrong with the world? ', do share. Billy Graham's  daughter was interviewed on the  Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her "How could God let  something like this happen?" (regarding the  attacks on Sept. 11). Anne Graham gave  an extremely profound and insightful  response. She said "I believe God is deeply saddened by  this, just as we are, but for years we've been  telling God to get out of our schools, to get  out of our government and to get  out of our  lives. And being the  gentleman He is, I believe He has  calmly backed out.  How can we expect God to give us His  blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us  alone?" In light of recent  events...terrorists attack, school shootin...

GOSSIP INCORPORATED 2

Image
It’s no fun to be the target of gossip. It can be frustrating, embarrassing, and hurtful. Maybe that’s why God encourages us to guard our tongues against gossip in His Word. I did a lot of search on this matter after being hurt recently. Some insights I simply copy-pasted for emphasis. God warns not to associate with gossips: "He who goes about as a slanderer reveals secrets; Therefore, do not associate with a gossip." (Prov. 20:19). They get you into trouble. God lists gossip alongside people who: do not acknowledge God; have a depraved mind; are full of unrighteousness, slander, wickedness, greed, malice, murder, strife, deceit, and envy; who hate God; are insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; and people who approve such things. (Rom. 1:28-32) Without mincing words, God hates gossip. Gossip is evil, reprehensible and detestable -- an abomination. Even the devil used in Ede...

Gossip Incorporated: Tittle-tattle Unlimited

Image
"Ha! Na wa o! Are you serious?  How can he be involved in such, and yet he calls himself a Christian?  No wonder she was looking like that the other day. Anyway, Don't tell anyone I told you this o, let's just be praying for each other..."...and the gist spreads out of 'concern' for the church. I've always hated been caught or my name mentioned in such gossip gists. Interstingly, quite a number of people 'work' voluntarily for Gossip Incorporated'. They're everywhere,  including us. Ehn o! You and I are involved somehow. You will find out soon. So I hear a tale about a friend of mine, I call the friend aside privately and confront them with the 'gist', as there is no smoke without fire,  so they can deal with it. Has my strategy been effective?  Sometimes. Well, I found it ended the tale but gave me 'enemies'. Not enemies like the devil or boko haram anyway. Lol. The person who brought the information in confidence fee...

#Nigeria-decides_Beryl_says

Today, in spite of doomsday prophecies particularly by the western world, Nigeria stands as one people, reportedly jubilating wildly at the turnout of the presidential election. I'm apolitical but I love this great country. There are Lots of lessons for all this season. I'm totally 'Jega-ed' right now.  This is the country that we sing of in our national anthem and recite in the pledge. Our compatriot, JEGA so impressed the country that his name got a new Meaning: JEGA - to be inexplicably chilled/relaxed and untold refusal to be overwhelmed in the midst of stupidity or antagonism or conflict. Usage: A Soldier slapped me, but I just Jega'ed. Lol There are loads of comments on social media, so I'll be reviewing a few plus mine for your reading pleasure. One of my friends, after making Jega his middle name remarked that is like the lucky thief who died beside Jesus. That last moment cleaned all his years of mess. Now an Elder statesman, Jonathan, had sho...

BRIDE FOR SALE

Image
Perhaps a better caption would have been, ‘what is the worth of a woman?’, ‘what   is her present and future premium value?’. This question comes to mind considering what is taken in exchange for the ‘head’ of the woman at traditional marriages. Is she just worth some alligator pepper, oversized yams, palm oil, coconut, red oil, baskets of groceries, bags of rice, a box   of clothes and wads of cash? Or perhaps a baby manufacturer, milk factory, child processor, room toy , a piece of furniture or even antique? When my friend, Winston (real name withheld) got married in June last year, he lamented, ‘omo Beryl, those guys are cruel. The bride price negotiation started from N 1,500,000 aside the other items customary requested and exclusive of refreshment and logistics for the occasion which almost gulped N2,000,000. Ehn! How much am i earning to warrant all the harassment?’ . i told him, ‘guy calm down o, na u wan marry, just take care of their daughter o’. He said, ‘what! L...

WHAT’S WRONG WITH THE GIRL FROM THE OTHER SIDE?

Image
WHAT’S WRONG WITH THE GIRL FROM THE OTHER SIDE? I got posted to the north for my service year. My people cried, begged and began to call my nonexistent uncles, aunties, somebody who knows somebody who knows somebody in NYSC to change my posting. Somehow they all forgot about me. While the drama was going on – and really it was based on genuine concern and love, I gently packed my ‘kaya’   and prepared myself for one year of adventure in God’s own land without the nerve racking gaze from my folks. Suddenly, as though someone was prompted, they remembered to ask me what my thoughts where. This was my response,   ‘are people living there? (Jigawa) Yes. Is God there? Yes. Therefore if people are there and God is there, then I am safe. I would be afraid if God wasn’t there. But as long as God is there, I am cool and I am going.’ That is my general attitude to life and the unfamiliar. It's the same attitude I had towards marriage and see where it landed me - in th...
