Can you remember anything that happened to you before the were 5 years old? Most adults I've met can. Even my new neighbors, Tega and Royal, 8 and 7 years old respectively can remember and are willing to share unique experiences from when they were 4 years and below. Most adults with relationship issues were violated, abused, maltreated and disoriented as children. I doubt some ever grew up. A young man shared with me how their housemaid made him sleep with her for years (without his parent's  knowledge) from when he was 10 years old,  and now he's only attracted to older ladies. This reminiscing began after two recent incidents. A mother asked her 4year old daughter, Idaraabasi,  (also my Goddaughter) on the evening of her 4th birthday if she was happy with all she got.   One night in February 2016, I stumbled on a shirt with my name, Beryl. I liked it and joked about getting royalty on the name, only to see other Beryls had commented, 3 of them. I was intrigued. I had thought I was the only Beryl in the planet, such beautiful and rare name. An idea suddenly flashed into mind and I put it up as a comment... 'wouldn't it be nice to have all Beryls in one group?'. Someone laughed, another liked the idea. It seemed a bit odd to me, I didn't know what to expect but I decided to JUST DO IT. Created the group and began to search for Beryls on social media...oh my God! My findings were shocking. In 2 weeks, I had over 300 men and women named Beryl from all continents of the world, different time zones, races, faces from all spheres of life. It's a rare privilege for me, to be the convener. Is there any leader out there who can identify with that cold feeling, especially when the chips are down, reality is , that you're alone. Sometimes folks are standing by, yet you feel so alone. Its a weird feeling but its real. You can be loved, respected, successful, and appreciated, but still feel like you're swinging the sword alone. I have e worked with many big men, entrepreneurs, corporate and church leaders etc, and I see this scenario play out many times, no one to trust with your deepest fears, thoughts and worries, its sometimes cold, sad and lonely at the top. As great as #Albert Einstein was, he came to a point when he reiterated, It is strange to be known so universally and yet to be so lonely. . Those moments can be really depressing if not managed properly. So I ask, Is this the scourge of all true leaders? Is it a Leadership condition? Is there a permanent cure, drug or treatment for this?
