Finding You

Who am I? Why am I here? What? How? When? Recently I've had to counsel, teach and coach in churches, groups and individuals on issues which centre on who we really are and why we're here.  Many have contemplated and committed suicide being unable to find answers to the questions of life,  depressed,  unhappy and disorientated. Some questions I teach them to ask are 7 Fundamental Questions, as discussed by Dr. Abu Bako 1.  WHO AM I? Who really are you? 2.  WHERE AM I? Where are you in relation to God, life and time? Are you in the exact place and location God planned for your life this very moment? 3.  WHY AM I HERE? What difference are you making where you are? 4.  WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE? Your work is incomplete if you do not get to the finishing line. What definite steps are you taking to get to your destination? 5.  HOW DO I GET THERE? How would you succeed if you don't know how you were meant to function? Are you among the many who ...

Diligence For Destiny

Image
Protecting your destiny and calling by GIVING diligence to your relationship and walk with God is of the essence. Considering sexual purity and the power of destiny. To be sexually pure is to abstain from all forms romantic activity before and outside marriage (premarital and extramarital). If peradventure, Joseph had indulged in some dodgy affairs with Mary before the wedding (premarital), it would have been assumed by biological assumption that it was Joseph who deposited the spermatozoa into Mary...and eventually, something would have gone wrong somewhere with destiny. This is one perspective to sexual purity. Also, if they both have gone ahead to satisfy the desires of their flesh,... They would have done it at the expense of their divine destiny, they would have lost it. Joseph would have been rendered irrelevant in the place of his destiny. Mary's name would have been wiped out of the sands of time. Though God by His mercy would have forgiven them of their sin if they se...

Are you really MATURE?

Image
Femi Onifade brought this up in the Monteeclairs whatsapp group and I feel it's worth sharing because a lot of have 'interesting yet vague' ideas of what it means to be MATURE.  For instance, when my mum was a spinster , one of her suitors considered her mature because he farted (mess) so much when he went visiting and she didn't say a word about it nor show how smelly it was (like rotten eggs mixed with 3 day old beans).  I'm glad she didn't marry him. Enjoy the article! Usually, I hear a few people talk about maturity and I have discovered that their mindsets and thoughts are always tilted towards age, natural growth and development, and material possessions but Inasmuch as I try not to argue---I think maturity in real life has got only a little to do with achieving natural growth and development. To be more direct, a matured person is one who is able to live life with principles and wisdom. One who delights in humility and learning from others. A ...

Cartoons- how safe...?

CARTOONS: HOW SAFE…? Dear Parents, I trust your day was productive. Whether or not it was, you still try to provide for your children, the basics at least, food, shelter, education and some entertainment. Aha! The entertainment, that’s my interest today. My interest goes beyond my being born on children’s day (27th May), my having lots of children, a child’s heart or the fact that I watch cartoons, science-fiction and animated films to relax. Nope! In fact my relaxation today reached an anti-climax suddenly as I finished a popular cartoon adapted to movie. Thoughts about the creeping effect of this sinister plot and the fact that parents, with their hard earned money and much love, are paying for the possible ruin of their children and the future. Now you relax, hell isn’t let loose yet. This post is ‘without prejudice’. So sip some water and try to answer these simple questions; When last did you buy a cartoon DVD or pay for your cable TV? How many times have you sat with you...

HAUNTING HURT 2 #hauntinghurt afterthoughts

Image
Some feedback came after our first post on haunting hurt (See link www.monteeclairs.com/2017/05/haunting-hurt.html) ; someone was just about to hurt other people because he was hurt, then he read the post and changed his mind. A lot of people are hurting and it's human to hurt sometimes. The source of the hurt are usually around and don't seem to care, maybe they were hurt too, and so their minds are distorted, smeared and blinded against others hurting. The source of the hurt is many cases someone close , someone  admired or not , like your father, mother, sibling,  Pastor,  Elder,  townsmen, boyfriend,  girlfriend,  church-folk, colleague, neighbours, cousins, extended relatives, husband,  wife,  in-laws , your ex, the supervisor,  lecturer, bossman,  the president, the country,  robbers...the list is endless and so seems your pain. So you hold them down with barb wires in your mind or so you think. You build a wa...

THE GAINS OF LETTING GO

Image
Maduka once shared with me how angry he was when I declined nominations to lead the youth department in 2013 after serving in different capacities (within the Youth Ministry) in almost a decade. Eventually, this gave rise to the birthing and discovery of new and amazing leaders; while i moved on to achieve bigger things, plus leading new units and improving my life. As i write to encourage leaders to learn to Let-Go, i am reminded of the natural phenomenon that 'Stagnant water stinks'.  Letting go feels like losing control but still Let-go to extend capacity, increase energy, and enhance fulfilment, for yourself and for others. Letting go unlocks the potential of others and yourself (you'd be surprised).  Letting go isn’t:  Giving up, s hirking responsibility or p assive acquiescence; it should be strategically planned for the greater good and optimal productivity. I am a leader,  a #leadershipfreak and I'd like you to trust me when I...
